BECOME A MONTHLY SUPPORTER

Houssein Hamze needs approximately $10,000 PER MONTH to keep Mashala shelter running and another $5000 to be able to keep rescuing new animals (visit the about us section for breakdown of this cost).

Some months, the shelter receives generous help, other months, the dogs at the shelter go hungry and are fed plain bread to survive. Help us ensure the animals never go hungry again, donate as little as $10/month consistently, so that we can keep moving forward with our mission without constantly worrying about the expenses!

Click the button below and visit our Patreon page to see how your donations will be put to good use. Your support will help a range of issues, from providing food, neutering or spaying animals, to helping to pay for shelter upgrades and land rent.

DONATE ITEMS

Mashala Shelter is always in need of the following items: (Please contact us directly to arrange transport for these types of donations.)

  • Dog/Cat food

  • Pet houses & beds

  • Heavy duty food bowls

  • Collars & leashes

  • Medical supplies (eg. deworming pills, flea medication)

Adopt

Adopt a rescue animal, save a life and gain a friend!

All adoptions are completed in person at the shelter, with the presence and approval of Houssein. There are no obligatory adoption fees, however we do accept donations!

Please contact the shelter if you have any enquiries regarding adopting an animal.

Foster

Foster a dog in your home to increase their chances at getting adopted!

Unable to make a long term commitment with a pet? Want to experience having a pet before making a final decision? Then fostering might be the right fit for you!

We need fosters to:

  • Help injured dogs recover fully before being placed at the shelter
  • Give exposure to shelter dogs and increase their chances at getting adopted
  • Teach basic obedience and socialization skills to a dog so that their chances of getting adopted increase
  • Keep a dog temporarily at your home between transportation rides to the vet and back

Fostering is also very important for people to get to spend time with the animal, get to know them, and make sure they are a right fit for their family and lifestyle.

For inquiries, please contact Mashala Shelter directly.

Transportation

Help us by transporting animals to and from the shelter whenever needed.

The shelter is located in the south of Lebanon, on the outskirts of Saida and Houssein deals with several vets in that area, but also frequently takes dogs to Animal House Hospital in Zalka for more severe cases (surgeries, blood tests, etc)

Houssein sometimes receives calls about injured dogs and other animals that are much too far for him to get to and is juggling between being at the shelter, rescuing animals from the streets, and transporting dogs.

For more information, and to arrange help with transport, please contact Mashala Shelter directly.

Volunteer

We need volunteers!

The dogs need constant affection from us to be happy and so we can arrange volunteer visits where you can walk, cuddle, feed and play with the dogs and help them get their daily dose of interaction :D

We will also be needing extra hands to enhance the shelter by adding shaded areas and building a new partition for the dogs.

Please contact Mashala Shelter if you are interested in volunteering.
